A PRAYER FOR HEALING FOR THE ONES LEFT BEHIND & FOR NANCY COMER & AN UPDATE

Many of you 'old' bloggers,
and by OLD I mean those of us that
have been blogging for several years,
know Vicki from

She was away from blogging
for quite a while as her family dealt
with her daughter-in-law Alicia's
BREAST CANCER.

Alicia fought the battle for
FOUR LONG YEARS
but, sadly,
lost her race against the disease recently.
You can read Vicki's final tribute to
Alicia here.

This beautiful young woman
left behind her husband and
two beautiful children.

Please pray for all of them
as they walk this fresh path of
grief and heartache.

Sometimes our words
just seem so inadequate,
don't they?
They can't begin to convey how deep
our emotions run or how sad we really feel.

That being said, please lift this family in prayer,
if you are a pray-er-
If not a pray-er,
 please send your good thoughts
and well wishes for peace of heart.

Another blogger wrote to me this week.
Her name is Nancy Comer.
You will remember her from
Nancy's Notes
She is such a lovely gal
and we connected immediately.
Several years ago her husband
had two strokes
and she has been caretaker
and soul mate to him.
Now, she needs prayers for herself.
There is a mass in her lungs
and on Friday
she had a PET scan
to see if anything
shows up in other areas of her body.
Next Wednesday she will have biopsies done.
As we all know, this is scary business.
Please pray for good reports for her
and pray that they don't find malignancy
when they do the biopsies.
I will keep you posted
when I hear from her or her kids.

AND-

Update on DownOnTheFarm,
Robbin's mom:

She is asking for specific prayers
for her mom as she is back in
the hospital dealing with
complications from her cancer treatment.
You can read more about that here.

Thanks to all of you that pop in here
and take the time to read and respond
to these requests.

Have a blessed Sunday.

THE BLOGGERS CONVENTION-AdNonsense-FUNNY ON FRIDAY

Pick Me- No- Pick Me
to the advertiser-if you would like your image removed please notify me

Hoping to encourage her oldest son to
FINALLY FIND A MATE,
Carol told Kevin that
he could have his pick of the litter
at the blogger's convention......

However, she drew the line
at cooking for her
 or cleaning up after
she finished her DIY projects.

Happy Friday!

THE COLOR OF MY WORLD! WATCH THE MAGIC HAPPEN!

First of all---
Thank you to all of you
that left me your thoughts
regarding an Etsy shop.
I will let you know
what I decide but I think your comments
have cemented my decision.

ANYWAY-----
ON TO TODAY'S POST....
Yes, It's true!
SPRING IS HERE!
That is what they are telling me.

So, could someone please explain
why this is a COLOR picture of the water out front?
We have had so many grey days,
I could fly.....
if I could get my broom started!

Not a speck of green to be seen...
When-Oh-When will Spring
EVER COME?

I am opening at the VA this morning.
I need to be there before 6 AM.
Do you think it would be selfish of me to
PRAY that when I got home this afternoon
that the above scene would look like this again?
Well, would that be TOO MUCH to ask?

Well, I am a little bit
WORRIED
about it...
I wonder if
SPRING
will EVER come.
Yes- I am!
I am worried!
See?
HEY!  At least I got the
HAIR COLOR RIGHT!

TAKING A POLL! ETSY-- YAY OR NAY...Opinions Please!

So-
I have a question
for anyone that would like to
weigh-in
and you don't have to take off
your shoes and sweater
on the matter.

I have been waffling over
whether or not to open an
Etsy shop.

I have been getting feedback
from several people that
Etsy sales are
WAY DOWN;
that Etsy is not what it used to be.

I have already corresponded
with some of you and I would
like to hear other's opinions, too.

Do you SELL on Etsy?
If so--how are your sales?
Do you BUY on Etsy?
Do you BUY like you did in the past?

I have been trying to
figure out the cost of mailing,
packaging and TIME factored in
and I am wondering if it is
more profitable to just take
my USED and/or VINTAGE
items to a local consignment shop.

Are you more inclined to buy
handmade, created goods on Etsy
as opposed to buying vintage items?

IF you have a moment,
I would love your feedback
and I thank you in advance for
any opinions you might offer.

edited to add:  Someone mentioned
selling on Facebook and/or
on the blog itself.
Whaddayathink?

Have a wonderful upcoming week!

A FEW POST-EASTER PICS---POST

We were lucky enough
to spend
EASTER WEEKEND
with my daughter, Mimi and her sweet family.
MyHero took at least 75 pictures.
This was the closest he came to having
EVERYONE LOOK AT THE CAMERA
and smile.
As you can see-
3 out of 5 made eye contact although
BigBoyE does not look too happy...
You know how there are bloopers?
We have at least FIFTY of pictures like this.
The kid in the dress is the goofball
that mugged for the camera.
I also have one picture
of three of my sweet grandgirls-
Look how big they are getting--
and SweetCheeks has glasses!

And their Mom, Tara---still beautiful---
shown here with her brother-
our youngest son...
fondly known as "Mama'sBoy"...
And here is his little guy..
flying off to see
Jack Sparrow @ Pirates of the Caribbean...
He was pretty excited when the
Captain asked him up to the front cabin
and let him sit in the pilot's seat.
No pictures of my oldest son
or his family.
Like me- he hates having his picture taken
so I only get pictures when his wife
shares them with me-lol....

For those of you brats that always ask
WHERE IS YOUR PICTURE
I say HERE YOU GO!
Next time I will brush my hair first....

Hope you all had a blessed Easter
and now we can move towards
Mother's Day!

This mama is off to the VA this morning
to mother a few veterans!

Have a wonderful Tuesday!

WISHING YOU AND YOUR FAMILY A BLESSED EASTER

I am visiting my daughter
and her family for
Easter.
God bless you and your families
and I pray for good health and
happiness for all of you.

Say a little prayer for us.
I am driving home through a storm today
and pulling a 16' job trailer behind me.
God is my co-pilot but
John is my "talkative" riding companion.
Are you wondering how much he talks?
Well, let's just say-
I wouldn't need a radio.....
OR a voicebox!

Happy Easter!

BEWARE!
to the advertiser~if you would like your ad removed please notify me
Amy told Ryan that his Mother
WAS NOT
as sweet as she appeared to be.
The clue laid in the fact that she
was using arsenic based ink
in her tattoo parlor.

Sorry I am not around today.
I am at my daughter's house
playing with the kids!

look easy.

She has been healing for over a year
since her accident and is
BACK IN THE BLOG WORLD.
Please pop over and tell her Hello.
It will mean the world to her.

AND

I hope many of you also remember
Bonnie from
She has done an amazing job over the years
of making her home look great
on a strict budget.

She would take on huge projects
WHEN HER HUSBAND
WAS OUT OF TOWN...
Don't you love her already?
Pop by her blog and tell her
Hello and Welcome Back
when you have a moment to do so.

Your laugh for the day from
Charles In Charge:
Charles In Charge:  Mom! Is there green ice cream?
Mama Mimi:  Yes-Pistachio is usually green.
Charles In Charge: You mean like the Pistachio of Liberty?
Mama Mimi:  Yep!

Gotta love it!
Have a great day!

EASTER DECORATIONS? EGGACTLY!

Do you love Easter as much as I do?
While I honor and celebrate the
REAL REASON
for Easter I also have a bit of
FUN getting ready for the day.

Here are a few small bits and pieces
of the MANY things I have.
Too many?
Nah!  Okay- maybe!

This little chick wagon has been mine
for about 40 years.
Isn't it dear?
It's from the 50's when I was a child.
Here you can see a bit of the
EASTER EGG TREE
behind it.
Cue the shamrocks!
This belonged to my mother.
She was born in 1912.
In 1924 the house they lived in
burned to the ground
just a few days before Easter.
One of the neighbors gave this
to my mother for Easter.
It had a small plastic comb inside
 that I still have
and a steel "puzzle".
I don't know if there was any candy in it.
This is a "hat" that stores eggs
from year to year.
It came with candy in it originally
and belonged to Gramma Hazel.
I have some wax egg candles from the 40's
that were also in the candy box-
along with the little "people".
And then, of course, I have the twins
and the other twins.....
I can hardly tell them apart.
Why my name is SO BIG there is a mystery to me.
Deal with it~

And- I don't want to forget
the sweet towels my daughter
gave me at Christmas time.
These are large towels
folded small so you can see the design.
They are most appropriate for Easter.
My Mindy got them from
Tina @ What We Keep.
Tina does a marvelous job and I
have had the pleasure of getting a
couple of things from her.

So-that's bits and pieces of Easter here.
Now all I have to do is get
My Hero to put on his
BUNNY COSTUME
to hide EASTER EGGS.
That is one scary looking bunny if you ask me!
Looks like he is saying:
Hey little girl-want some candy?
Hey-if someone is crazy enough to
do something weird while I have a camera
out I claim the right to use the photos on my blog.

As you can see this was taken a while ago
before he was on the
Cancer Diet.
He is now skinny---
and that's all I'm gonna say 'bout that!

Hope YOU
Have a Hippity Hoppity Day!

PRAYER REQUESTS & SOME PRAYER UPDATES

I think those that know me well
might snicker a bit about the fact
that I have a blog that posts
PRAYER REQUESTS.

When my husband got ordained
my good friend, Patty M,
(and you know who you are)
said:
"Well~all good and fine for John but now~
WHO IS HE GOING TO TAKE TO CHURCH?"
Yeah- that is the kind of friends that
I have!

Fast forward and here I am,
entrusted by people to post
PRAYER REQUESTS
for them.
God is funny that way.
He does
PERFECT WORK
through
IMPERFECT PEOPLE!
Trust me- I know-

Okay-
Enough chatter---
First up:
My friend, Jettie.
She has been in horrible pain.
She has had a hip surgery and two knee surgeries
and some days she has so much pain in her back
that she could cry.
She just got a final diagnosis-
ARTHRITIS throughout her body and
DEGENRATIVE DISC DISEASE.
There is no "fix" for either of these
but she is praying they will find something
to make the pain tolerable.
This is an old picture but the only one I can find
in my files.

And..
Please pray for
Jettie's "niece" TESHA.
TESHA has uterine cancer.
Please pray for her.
She is only 41with a lot of life
ahead of her.

Edited to add this request:
From Michele-@FinchRest

Asking for you all to pray for my brother who had a stroke recently, too and for my sister whose back is ruining her life with pain. And for my niece who was just confirmed on Friday (I am her sponsor.) Thank you. God bless.
UPDATES:
Jill is doing fine.
She is recovering at home after stomach surgery
 and is slowly getting well.
Her family has been supportive and
her girls and hubby help her.
Next--
Jay, Connie's husband,
He had stomach surgery also.
It was a rather long, involved surgery
but he is doing well.
He, too is home now.
Connie says,"Praise the Lord for the outcome"~

Robbin's  (Down On The Farm)
mom had a portion of her
cancerous liver removed.

She will be staying close to the hospital
for a few weeks so they can monitor her.
The got the lymph nodes and it appears
that she is on her way to a total healing.
A real answer to prayer because
they weren't sure
what was going to happen there.
Robbin's message said to tell everyone
"Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever"
ALL the families thank EVERYONE
that prayed for them or sent good,
healing thoughts their way.

So, my friends-
There you have it.
NEW PRAYER REQUESTS
and
PRAYER REQUEST UPDATES.

If you are NOT a pray-er,
please wing good  and healing thoughts
everyone's way.
Thanks so much.

I am blessed to have our
SweetCheeks with us this weekend!
I don't see her nearly often enough
now that she is getting to be a
'big girl'.
We'll be having a few laughs
at Papa's someone's expense.
You know we will.
Here she is when she was just a munchkin
and loved to play dress up....

She is growing up
WAY TOO FAST!

Thank you for the prayers for everyone
and I hope you have a wonderful
peaceful, blessed Sunday~

LIFE'S A TRIP-FUNNY ON FRIDAY/ADNONSENSE

Mom! Mom!
I finally figured out how to
work this video-cam- kind of..
I know the picture remains
stationary...but can you
hear me talking?
Can you?
Anyway...
I am sending you this because
I want you to know that
you were
WRONG!
Dead Wrong!
Remember when I was
a teenager and
you kept telling me that
drugs would ruin my life?
That too much acid
would fry my brain?
Well! Lookit me, Ma!
Here I am!
48 years old and doing just fine.
I've been painting, too...
Yes I have!

Behind me is one of my
best pictures so far.
I call it
Study In Orange
and I'm gonna sell
it for about
a gazillion bucks
to the big art dealer
down the street...
although he seems to be
"out of the office"
everytime I stop by.

Well, anyway...
just wanted you to know that.

I'm doing fine and
many thanks to Daddy
that left me all his money
so I can buy more art supplies.

I hope you are getting by
on the $468. a month
you get from Social Security...
That's all for now, Mom.
Bye.

UPDATED PRAYER REQUEST FOR THREE PEOPLE NOW & An Update On Jill

ANOTHER ADDITION TO THE PRAYER CHAIN:

Deb over at
FRUGAL LITTLE BUNGALOW
has a post about the prayer they need right now.
Her sons' dad succumbed quite unexpectedly to
heart failure.

They are broken hearted.

I should have been
on the ball quicker with this.
My bad
(do kids even say that anymore)--

Anyway,
Please pray for Nonnie's husband, Jay.

He is having surgery today for an
abdominal aortic aneurysm.
Kind of a scary surgery so please
pray for Jay, the surgeon,
and the family's peace of heart.

Also-
My friend, Robbin's mom,
is having cancer surgery tomorrow.
This is a serious one, folks.
You can read about it on Robbin's blog

Please pray for both these people
AND their families.
If you are NOT a pray-er,
please send them good wishes
and healing thoughts.

Thank you and I will update you
when I know more.

Update on:
Jill is home and recovering and
appears to be doing well.
She thanks you for all prayers
and healing wishes.
She is "playing" on Pinetrest
and if you click the link above
it will take you to her blog
where she is sharing some of her
Easter finds.

Have a great afternoon & evening.
Thank you so much for your faithfulness
in the way this community of bloggers
bands together to pray for, and cheer on
others.
